The new dawn of effortless sailing performance and space in the Southampton Based Dixon Yacht Design project “New Dawn”.
The design characteristics of this yacht are similar to that of motor yachts with large bright saloon, 4 guest cabins, cinema, spa, gym, dining room and lounge space and of course a full width owners cabin with balcony.
However, New Dawn has some impressive technological systems including an advanced hybrid propulsion system that optimizes the energy usage onboard and an energy recovery system that uses the propulsion propellers to generator electricity whilst the vessel is sailing.
Falcon Rigs ensure that New Dawn can be operated singlehandedly and minimises the challenges of sailing.
Minimising energy loss is at the forefront of this design. The vertical side windows have been specified with insulating glass providing protection against solar damage. The roof structure has been designed to accommodate high-performance solar cells that are integrated into the glass panels.
