In superyachts, everything has to maintain a certain sense of unity and clarity of appearance, including ropes. This, however, can pose a problem when identifying mooring lines, particularly because of their strict safety requirements.
More Marine have now developed an NFC chip which can be placed on any existing rope. After scanning it with a smartphone, this will reveal the rope’s specifications and other relevant information.
Being able to quickly identify the age, diameter, and breaking strength of a rope is of paramount importance. It would not be surprising then to see More Marine’s NFC chips on more superyachts in the near future.
