High-speed satellite connectivity and yacht entertainment provider Speedcast last week took part in the humanitarian mission delivered by M/Y Dorothea III in Grand Turk as part of YachtAid Global’s relief project. In collaboration with Station53, Speedcast donated reliable higher bandwidth internet to the area, meaning local government officials and other aid workers to easily communicate from the centre of the crisis and coordinate aid efforts.

M/Y Dorothea III is a worldwide expedition yacht and so frequents areas outside the typical cruising destinations. After the devastation of hurricanes Irma and Maria the Dorothea team also delivered food, water and other donated and purchased supplies. They pumped 15,000L of water ashore to jugs and a truck for distribution. The team cooked and facilitated delivery of cooked meals to both the local shelter and old folks center.
