OceanWeb have launched an Offshore Mobile Device Optimiser (OMDO) by combining existing mobile data amplification technologies. The device has been trialed at sea and the Pepwave linked through the OMDO received download speeds of between 10 and 15Mb at 16.5 miles offshore whereas the un-amplified Pepwave received no 3G/4G service and therefore no connectivity.
