Global authority in the home technology industry CEDIA has announced that its 2018 Awards program is now open, and is accepting entries for both the home technology professional awards and the manufacturer awards.
But what exactly do these awards celebrate, and why should those in the superyacht industry be interested?
What is it?
The CEDIA Awards program recognizes technical excellence and product innovation, and celebrates the many ways technology enhances the home. This is on a very large scale, awarding against 20 installation categories in three different regions across the world. And it is not exclusive to land-based homes.
Included in the home technology professional awards is the Best Auto, Marine or Aircraft category, open those in the superyacht sector. Entries into this category are not only eligible for this award but also five of the others which are judged from the entire entry pool. So, you could win more than once!
The manufacturer awards celebrate the creators of innovative connected technology products, with categories such as Best New Software Product, Best New Hardware Product, and Product Hall of Fame all up for grabs.
What happens if I win?
Americas winners will be announced and recognized at the CEDIA Expo in San Diego, CA.
EMEA winners will be announced and recognized at the 2018 EMEA Awards event in London in September.
And Asia Pacific winners will be announced on August 23, 2018 at the CEDIA Awards event in conjunction with Integrate 2018.
What do I need to know before I enter?
Installations may be entered in multiple categories and all awards are judged by industry technical experts.
You have up until the 2nd April 2018 to enter the home technology professional awards, whilst deadline for entry to the manufacturer awards is May 14th.
Finalists are set to be selected in August and all entrants must be from a CEDIA Member company.
