Awareness of one’s own surroundings is arguably the most important part of any security system on land or afloat. However, it is only in recent years that technology has caught up to the needs of superyacht crew and owners from a surveillance point of view. Until not too long ago, owners had to rely only on having crew members on watch at all times, scanning a 360-degree perimeter looking for objects that they didn’t necessarily know were there.
